Ingredients

  • 12 ounces ziti pasta or penne pasta
  • 1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
  • 1 (14.5 ounce) can petite diced tomatoes, drained
  • 4 tablespoons Mama Mia™ Marinara Sauce Mix
  • 1 pound frozen bite-size (½ ounce) Italian meatballs, thawed
  • 1 (8 ounce) package fresh ciliegine "cherry-sized" mozzarella balls
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F. Prepare pasta according to package directions to al dente. Drain. Transfer to a greased 13x9-inch baking pan.
  2. Stir in tomatoes and Mama Mia Marinara Sauce Mix. Stir in thawed meatballs and mozzarella balls. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella over the top.
  3. Cover and bake 30 minutes; remove cover and continue baking 15 minutes or until internal temperature of meatballs reaches 165°F on an instant-read food thermometer. Let stand 10 minutes before serving.
  • Makes 6 servings.
  • Serve with a green salad and garlic toast.
  • Wine Pairing: Cabernet Sauvignon
  • Make Ahead & Freeze: Prepare through step 2 in a disposable aluminum 13x9-inch pan. Cover with plastic wrap and then aluminum foil. Label and freeze. Thaw completely. Preheat oven to 375°F. Remove plastic wrap and recover with foil. Continue with step 3.
