Ingredients

  • 2 cups self-rising flour, plus more as required for kneading
  • 2 cups thick non-fat plain Greek yogurt, such as Fage
  • 1 large egg, lightly beaten
  • 2 tablespoons Everything Bagel Seasoning

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper, and spray with no-stick cooking spray. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and Greek yogurt.
  2. Mix until crumbly. Turn onto a lightly floured surface, brush your hands with flour, and knead until dough forms. Divide into 8 pieces. Shape each into a ball. Poke your thumb through the middle, and gently stretch until you have a bagel-shaped ring. Place on baking sheet; repeat.
  3. Brush bagels with egg and sprinkle with Everything Bagel Seasoning. Bake 25 minutes on the top rack of the oven. Let cool 15 minutes before slicing.
  • Makes 8 servings.
  • Make Ahead: Store in refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Note: Fage is a very thick yogurt. If using a Greek yogurt other than Fage, add enough additional flour to be kneadable (up to 1 cup more).

    Recipe seems wrong

I combined the flour and yogurt and the dough was very soft. I had to add a bunch more flour to make it kneadable. They are baking now, so not sure how they will turn out. Just wanted to give a heads up about the quantity of flour to yogurt ratio.
